so far, so good :)

First off -- God is AWESOME.
Second off -- You all are great!

I got my first contribution letter that lets me know how I am doing on fundraising last week. With only five donations I am over a fourth of the way there, which is amazing and I never would have thought I would already be this far!! This is the reason that I was unsure about doing YIM because I did not think I could raise the money in time, but I still felt like God was pointing me in that direction. So... I applied, got accepted, started fundraising, and am making great progress!!

I just want to thank you all for your prayers as I am preparing for this trip and for the donations and gifts that were provided! You all are WONDERFUL and this trip would not be possible with out your help and support!! You all have been a great part of my life and I thank you for the people that you are :)

one check at a time.

I have been getting a lot of things done that are on my YIM, Youth in Mission, checklist. I love lists because when you check things off of them, you really feel like you are making progress and accomplishing somethings!!
This past week I have FINALLY sent out my letters along with my prayer reminder postcards :) I wrote a personal letter about how I feel called to missions and about the mission trip that I will be involved with this upcoming summer, I will post it on here as well.
It is kind of crazy for me to think about that in less than three months I will be in Kenya, Africa!! I am nervous, scared, and anxious, but EXCITED more than anything!! Time seems to be going faster and faster as I am working towards my YIM check list. Things are getting done and the trip is becoming more real to me. I made my appointment to get all of the shots that I need, before I set foot in Africa, for sometime over spring break and I have been looking at plane tickets that I have to purchase to get to El Paso for training camp for 5 days before I leave for Africa.
I have not heard anything about the time my team and I will be spending in Tanzania, but I am excited to see what God has in store for all of our lives along with the way that he uses us to reach the people of East Africa. This summer is going to be a great experience and I cannot wait to be able to share picture and different stories with all of you!!
